So I know I ranted about this via my @zrjaved Twitter today, but I am still so frustrated about the PPP government asking Interpol to arrest Musharraf on charges of failing to provide adequate security for Benazir Bhutto. The only thing I can say is fuck off. Musharraf is not a good man. He sold out innocent people to the CIA who stayed years in Guantanamo. There are things you can arrest him for. The Bhutto security case? Not good enough. Let me just copy-paste all of my tweets from today.

Don’t fucking be hypocritical when it comes to security. We all know the Ahmadiyya community is targeted by fundamentalist members of the mainstream sects. Where was the security detail on their mosques in 2010? The HRCP warned you for months that there would be an attack. Wasn’t that inadequate security? Stop being so preoccupied with Bhutto and focus more on the people of Pakistan. If you spent half as much time bringing perpetrators of violence against women to justice as you did fueling martyr rhetoric into your politics, I would have some respect for you. Where is the protection for the average man, woman, and child? Your government has failed to provide security to the people of Karachi when there are bullets raining down on them from political turmoil. Your government has also failed to provide adequate security for the women of Pakistan by not repealing the Hudood Ordinances.

Your primary duty as a government is to provide security for the average person first. That’s why men enter into social contracts in the first place. Balochistan. Karachi. FATA. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prioritize. I am tired of this idolization of Bhutto. You want justice too, right? But what about your responsibility to protect your citizens? I don’t hear any pressing lawsuits against the United States for drone warfare. Once the average person is safe from suicide bombings, drone strikes, and discrimination, only then can you arrest PM for inadequate security.
